The Birth of A Smoothie Convert

HUNGER...WEAKNESS...ANGER! These are a few of the words that came to my mind when someone would tell me about a smoothie that they had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. "Girl! I just had the best smoothie for breakfast!" They'd say. "Yeah right! You know you are HUNGRY, WEAK, and ANGRY!!" I'd think with a sarcastic inner tone.

The thought that someone could drink a liquid that could actually: A) BE GOOD, and B) KEEP THEM FROM STARVING was implausible at best. So when I started watching Danette May's live videos on FACEBOOK I was like., "Yeah right I'll drink that AFTER a good STEAK with POTATOES!." After two videos of her talking about her 3-day detox I was interested in the possibilities.

Finally I worked up the nerve to purchase the 3-day detox ($7... yeah I'm cheap-ish) all the while hearing my husband's voice in the back of my mind, "LaShawn you can NOT out work a bad diet." I went out on the $7 limb... and I LOVED it. Not only did I release 10lbs of fat in 6 days (yea I did! and have kept them off and keep losing!) I had lots of energy; didn't have spend my time in the bathroom (like with colon cleanses), and I felt even more motivated to reach my weight loss goal with working out and healthier eating. All with:

No Hunger

No Weakness

No Anger

Just really good smoothies partnered with clean eating.

Today I'm going to share one of my favorite smoothies. Now I know the sarcastic inner voice is trying to speak and tell you to close the page, but I challenge you to give it a try. This one like so many of Danette May's recipes are designed to purge toxins from your liver, kidney, and other vital organs. Why is that important? Come to find out that our body absorbs toxins from the overly processed food we eat, and the polluted air we breath. It goes right into our vital organs. Guess what the body's reaction to those toxins is?! To produce fat to protect those organs! By cleansing my kidney and liver (the two main organs responsible for ridding the body of toxins) I make my body more efficient in getting rid of toxin thus giving it permission to release the excess fat! Pina Colada Goodness to the rescue!!!

Detox Pina Colada Smoothie

1/2 C. KALE (I used SPINACH)

1 C. of Water or Coconut Water

Juice from one LIME

1/2 Organic Cucumber

1/2 cup of Fresh Pineapple (I used FROZEN)

1 tsp. of COCONUT OIL (Organic/ Unrefined)

Handful of ice

Here's how mine tuned out!

I know! I know! I can hear you now saying, "That's all good, but I'm not willing to sacrifice flavor and suck down grass the rest of my life! Guess what?! Me either! This smoothie is flavorful and keep you feeling full till your 2 hours are up and its time to eat again. I fixed this smoothie yesterday. It took 5 minutes to prepare and totally took care of my hunger paired with two boiled eggs.
